Consultation Summary

The rules associated with emergency protection have remained fundamentally unchanged since 1999 and pre-date the availability of GSM-R and the railway emergency group call (REC) facility. A review of these arrangements, supported by risk assessment, has been undertaken and proposes changes to Rule Book modules M1, M2 and TW1, including removal of the use of detonators.
